Let's talk about money—something that pisses people off. People say, "Oh, that's something you don't talk about. You don't talk about money, politics, and you don't talk about religion." That makes them mad. What is money? Well, being born in the Bible belt, I thought it was evil or somebody told me it was. I always knew I was going to be wealthy. By wealthy I mean so rich that rich people find out and they get a little ill because they're like, "Man, nobody should have that much." Here's the thing, I've heard about the moral amount growing up. What's the moral amount to me? You know, it's a damn funny thing that every time the moral amount changed in those conversations, it just happened to be what they were making. That was confusing. What's the moral amount, $50,000? So, if you make more than $50,000, that's not moral. They'd say, "You're sacrificing your family for money—Mammon. You can't serve two masters—Mammon and God."

They say, "It's so hard for a rich man to get to heaven. Gosh, squeaking, squeaking ... It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle." What? When I heard that, I wasn't thinking, "I can't be rich." I was just thinking of an actual needle and an eye of a needle. I was thinking, "My God. The miraculous thing for me is going to be how to figure out how to get through the eye of a needle." I guess I have to make bigger needles, haha. It wasn't until later that I learned that camel had to take off all of its packs from being on a long travel and the eye of the needle was actually the way you entered a city after dark. I can do a whole long talk on that one too.

We're talking about money man. What is money? Money is inanimate. It takes on the spirit of the possessor. If you're a good person, money in your hands is good. You are the master. And I would venture to say if you are the master of money then you are good. If money is your master then you are bad. I think that's where that verse, "The love of money is the root of all evil" comes from. I don't love money, I love myself. That's a whole other topic I could dive into. You can't love other people, you can't truly serve other people, you can't truly have happy relationships if you don't love yourself. Period. I'll get into that in a future blog.

People ask, "Will you pray for me? I can't pay my bills, will you pray for me?" Well, there's a reason why there's 2,500 verses on finances and only 500 on prayer. It's because your ass needs to make some money! It is the mode of how things operate here on this earth. It's very important. Now, is money on my top 10 list? No, it's actually not, but it does rank up there right next to air. And air allows you to breathe so that you can have life and do things for others. Money is the same thing. Money affords you choices so that you can do things for others and yourself. Money is vital so quit thinking there is a moral. There is no moral amount.

Now, you can't think that a certain amount will make you happy because it won't. You'll get there and it's a little empty. I never tie my happiness to what I'm making. I tie my happiness to my purpose. I'm fulfilling my purpose in what I'm here to do, right? I'm the CEO of Change. Anyway, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this—putting content out. Hopefully, it reaches somebody. Hopefully, there's somebody reading some of these blogs who says, "Gosh, I never thought of it that way." At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to me is that I get to reach you. I don't even ever have to know it, but were you able to change yourself and have a better life? I don't have to be your guru or your mentor or anything like that. I just want to be able to provide you with something that helps your relationship today, your job today, or your business today. Something that breaks through some of the clouds that these crazy people out there throw out.
