I was thinking about something on my way to the gym this morning and I hope this rings with somebody. There's an attitude disease called “Too Much Caution.” Look, I know people that take too much risk. They're very few and far between. I actually find that the people who take too much caution towards life are actually the ones truly risking everything. Don't seek for security. Seek for adventure. If you're asking, "What if? What if this could happen, and then if that happens, what if this happens on top of it? Where would I be then?" If you're asking questions like that, too much caution is your disease.

It is not how long you live, but rather how you lived. I can truly attest to that. I'm still alive, so maybe I don't have the perspective yet of somebody that has passed on, and maybe they just wish they could come back and live longer as opposed to having lived fully, but I doubt it. “Too much caution.” Is that you? Take the risk. I can promise you this about life—Ain't none of us getting out alive. Nanea Hoffman said it best in her quote, “None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an afterthought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.” Gary Vaynerchuk suggest that you “Roll up to that hot chick in the bar and ask her out. Roll up on that good looking dude and ask him for coffee. Roll up on your business idea and make it happen. Because being 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and having regrets that you didn’t swing the bat is the worst regret of them all.”

Here's what's going to set you free if you would only realize that it's all risky anyway. It's all risky. It's risky to get up earlier. It's risky to sleep in later. It's riskier to get in your car. It's riskier to get on a motorcycle instead. It's riskier to get on a plane. It's riskier to walk down the sidewalk to work. It's risky to get married. It's risky to have kids. It's risky to start a business. It's risky to have a job. It's risky to put your faith in the hands of a company. These are risky things. It's all risky. So I want you to live, seek adventure and not security. Just remember—ain't none of getting out alive…so live.
